The Sandhill Crane Suite is often referred to as the “Honeymoon Suite” or the “Anniversary Suite” at The Woodland Farmhouse Inn because of it’s private location on the property.
Boasting 9 ft. ceilings, this spacious master suite is located in a separate house away from the Historical Inn, in a private corner of the Innkeeper’s home. It is appropriately named after the migrating Sandhill Cranes which have been seen dancing their mating ritual within 20 feet of the private entrance of this suite.
Surrounded on three side by horse pasture, all four seasons are enjoyed from the suite’s porch area. The Spring welcomes the fragrant blossoms of Mock Orange and Chokecherry Trees. This suite is on the cool side of the house in the Summer, shaded by mature maple trees, and has the cool evening canyon breezes coming down the valley. During the Autumn, the large picture window over the double bathtub has views of the river bottom cottonwoods adorned in full yellows, contrasting with the red scrub oak leaves on the hills and mountains beyond. Winter lays down a mute white covering and a chance of wildlife sightings.
Entering through the sliding glass doors of the breakfast nook, you will find a table-for-two and wet bar with a small refrigerator and separate freezer. The microwave and coffee service stand also houses deluxe breakfast-in-bed trays normally used for a requested honeymooning couples’ first-morning breakfast.
The lovely King Bedded suite has a warm Natural gas log fireplace with reading recliners for TV/DVD viewing.
The bathroom boasts a lovely separate glassed shower, large mirrored vanity and, of course, the oversized bathtub complete with bubble bath supplies.
